About "A Billion Dreams" Competition:
"Dream, Dream, Dream
Dreams transform into thoughts
And thoughts result in action."
- Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam
This is exactly what we, the "A Billion Dreams" team want you to do - Put these words of our former President into perspective and give us your opinion on what our nation should become.
In another 13 years, our democracy will be 75 years old. But, we are still far away from being included in the lexicon of super powers of the world. Many problems abound our country; corruption is rampant, poverty reigns free and inter-state disputes rage on. We need to wake up to these resident social evils, take a stand and make a change.
And who better to change it than you: the youth of the country!
Tell us your vision for India: how you'd like it to be and what changes you would want done. It could be making a quieter parliament or something so simple that you could start from your own backyard, anything under the sun that in your opinion would make our country worthy of admiration and appreciation.
Present your visions in a video and upload them onto our site.
The best visions will be voted upon by a panel of eminent judges and can also be rated by the Indian public. The winning visions will be aired at a grand finale in Chennai, by April 2010 which will be presided over by notable dignitaries.
The final winners will also win prizes worth of Rs.30, 000, Rs.25, 000 and Rs.20, 000 respectively.
So put your thinking caps on and start dreaming!
